Tanith's Sonnet

I saw a pale shape lying on the ground
During my walk as sun began to rise
It was a bleached rose that I had found
Its wholesome shade by process sterelized
The harsh alchemic formula had wrought
Its violence on the goodly native hue
No accident, but evil aforethought
Had stolen what was every flowers due

Yet pinkish blush upon the petals faint
Could grow and overcome, in time, the taint
