Be Thou My Faith

And Let There Still Be Hymns to Sing

To the tune of O For a Thousand Tongues (Azmon)

And let there still be hymns to sing
And praises still to write
And let the bells unending ring
New melodies of light

And all Thy poets resurrect
To once more take up pen
Fill once again their intellect
More brilliantly then

And those whom Thou once called to teach
Give them yet more to tell
Forever toward the bottom reach
Of Thine unending well

And to Thy just and righteous kings
Give yet more glorious crowns
Thereby Thine honor to increase
As sovereigns cast them down.

And though these things shall ever be
Unworthy tribute paid
Accept what men can offer Thee
The works Thy works have made.
